The 59th year of Frog Jump. From Walt Hansen JR. (Jay) "My late mom and dad (Walter and Donna Hansen) started it originally in Scouts as a way for fathers and sons to get out and spend time together. It instantly became a hit on Planters Day and became open for all contestants up to the age of 13. There are prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd longest jumps. Biggest, smallest, prettiest, and ugliest. If someone breaks the record set by Brian Cole they will win $55.00 - a dollar for every year of the contest. They jump from a pad and get three jumps. You can yell at it, blow on it, spit on it, and squirt it but you can't touch it once you put it down. We now have 4th generation contestants that show up. Generally, there are at least 80 contestants. Cash prizes and ribbons.
