About the 55+ Day Trip to the Como Conservatory and Old Fashioned Holiday Bazaar
Feel the holiday spirit on a day trip to two beloved Twin Cities destinations! Begin the morning wandering through the warm, colorful gardens of the Como Conservatory, with special seasonal rooms on display. Enjoy a light lunch at the historic St. Paul Hotel before heading over to the Landmark Center for the Old Fashioned Holiday Bazaar to enjoy music, treats, and shopping for handmade gifts. This cozy outing is the perfect way to celebrate the season and get a head start on holiday cheer.
Pre-registration is required. Registration is open until Sunday, November 1 at midnight, or until full. No refunds can be issued after this date.
Tentative Itinerary:
9:15 a.m.: Leave Ramsey City Hall
10:00 a.m.: The bus will drop group at the Visitors Center at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. It is the largest glass-domed garden in the region. The garden occupies approximately one-half acre under glass. Opened to the public in 1915, Como Park Conservatory was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. Wander through the misty fern room, exotic tropical gardens. Enjoy the perfectly landscaped displays colorful planting. Most likely the Sunken Garden Holiday Flower Show will be open. As time allows, spend time at the Garden Safari Gift Store.
11:15 a.m.: Leave Como Conservatory.
11:30 a.m.: Arrive at The St. Paul Hotel. In 1910 “St. Paul’s Million-Dollar Hotel” opened. The guest list included James J. Hill, Lucius P. Ordway and John Ireland. Have a light lunch served in the Summit Room.
Menu: Chicken Salad with Apples and Grapes topped with Baby Greens and Tomato on a Croissant. Soup, Pasta Salad, Bars, Coffee, Tea or Milk.
1:00 p.m.: After lunch, walk across the street to the Landmark Center for the annual Old Fashioned Holiday Bazaar. For decades the Bazaar has featured quality handcrafted items including, jewelry, wreaths, paintings, woven and wearable art, handmade lotions, soaps and more! Enjoy the delicious Treats, festive music and holiday shopping.
3:00 p.m.: Leave the Landmark Center.
3:45 p.m.: Estimated return time to Ramsey.
