50th C.J. Mackenzie Gala
About this Event
On January 26, 2027, the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan (USask), together with this year's host department, Electrical and Computer Engineering, will celebrate the 50th C.J. Mackenzie Gala - a milestone marking half a century of engineering excellence.
Each year, the gala honours an alum who has achieved distinction in their profession. The 50th Distinguished Lecturer will be announced soon and will deliver the keynote address before being inducted into the College of Engineering Alumni Wall of Honour, joining a community of alumni who have made lasting contributions to our profession and society.
Join us for this special anniversary celebration as we gather as engineering students, alumni and industry partners to honour the achievements and impact of our USask Engineering community over the past five decades.

- Cocktails and Student Showcase Reception: 5:00 pm
- Opening remarks: 6:30 pm

Nominations are now open for the C.J. Mackenzie Distinguished Lecturer
Do you know a USask Engineering alumnus who has achieved prominence within their profession? Help us recognize their excellence by submitting a nomination for them to be recognized as a C.J. Mackenzie Distinguished Lecturer.
Nominate an alumnus who:
- Graduated from the University of Saskatchewan’s undergraduate and/or graduate engineering program(s).
- Has had a distinguished and impactful career.Has achieved prominence within their field and/or the engineering profession.
- Would deliver an engaging and thought-provoking keynote address.
The nomination process
Nominations are accepted year-round and remain on file for future consideration. While the C.J. Mackenzie Gala highlights a graduate from a specific host department each year, we welcome nominations from all disciplines within the College of Engineering.
