WE'VE STRUCK GOLD! The Golden Anniversary of the Carey Ecumenical Choir will be held on Sunday, December 8th at 5:00 p.m. at the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation, 315 Clay Street in Carey. Admission is free and ALL are invited!Anthony Gallina, the Director of Music Ministries at the Basilica & Shrine and Patricia Murphy, Director Emeritus of Choirs at Epworth UMC in Marion, will be directing the choir. Choir members come from all over central and northwest Ohio to participate in this Christmas tradition. A brass quintet from will be playing pre-concert music and accompanying the choir on some pieces.
This 50th anniversary concert will pay tribute to all those who have helped make the Carey Ecumenical Choir possible these last 50 years. With past directors invited back and a world premiere of a song composed for the choir's Golden Anniversary, this is a concert you don't want to miss!
All are invited to experience the joys and wonders of Christmas in song in the beautiful acoustics of the basilica!
A reception will follow the concert in the Shrine Cafeteria.
