Making friends as an adult—especially once you’re over 50—can be surprisingly difficult. That’s where Speed Friending comes in! This event at ARTISANworks is designed to make meeting new people easier in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.
And no, this isn’t speed dating—it’s speed friending.
Participants will rotate through a series of guided conversations at small tables. To help break the ice, everyone will receive a coloring sheet to work on during the event, which helps take some of the pressure off those first introductions. The event includes three rounds of conversation with two prompts per round:
Round 1: 5 minutes per question
Round 2: 10 minutes per question
Round 3: 15 minutes per question
Between rounds, guests will swap seats when possible so you’ll have the opportunity to talk with several different people throughout the afternoon. You’ll also receive a contact card where you can share your information (phone number, Instagram, etc.) along with what you’re open to—friendship, casual connection, or something more. This way, you can exchange details comfortably without the awkward moment of someone suddenly handing you their phone.
