Hello everyone. There will be a small event in Tanworth In Arden on the 24th November , the eve of Nick passing, to commemorate 50 years since Nicks passing, and celebrate the music and legacy he left. This will be in the village church, and will be a 12 Nick Drake-athon to raise money for MIND: a continuous period of people getting up and performing Nick Drake songs starting at midday and ending at midnight. Nothing too formal, and anyone can have a turn! Just get up and play, or simply be part of it. This is not a replication of the annual gathering so please don’t expect anything highly organised! Just a chance for us to get together and pay our respects, appreciate the music and remember dear Nick.
I recognise that the 24th is the day before his passing, but thought a Sunday is likely to be much easier for people to attend.
Ps I should add, this has the ‘blessing’ of the Nick Drake estate and I’ve had full discussion with the Nick Drake annual gathering organisers…more details will follow.
