50 Minute Guided Tour at The Old Police Cells Museum

Weave your way through Brighton’s original Old Police Cells underneath Brighton Town Hall as you learn about 200 years of Sussex policing and crime. You’ll see original graffiti from the 1964 clash between the Mods ‘n’ Rockers, the original court model from the bombing of the Grand Hotel by the IRA and the 2-way radio system developed by a Brighton police officer that would launch this form of communication in forces around the world.

Our guided tours are curated by one of our expert guides who will provide key information, facts and anecdotes, as you explore the cells.

Guided tours last approximately 50 minutes

The Old Police Cells Museum is a historic, underground site. Visitors should be aware that conditions may include uneven floors and steps, variable lighting levels, limited ventilation, and variable temperatures. During winter months the cells and corridors can be warm. We do have accessible step-free enterance to the Men's cells however there are steps to the Womens cells.

We encourage visitors to take care while moving around the site. Face masks are available on request for anyone who would prefer to use one.
