5 minute pitch sessions at Festival of Fiction 2024

We have an incredible opportunity for aspiring fiction writers to pitch in person to some of the publishing industry’s most influential people in our “Speed Dating” pitch sessions, which will run between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM AWST on Saturday 19th October, 2024.

Pitch sessions will be held at the stunning Edith Cowan cottage, home of the Peter Cowan Writers Centre, at ECU in Joondalup, right next to the festival auditorium. Please use carpark 2 on the day. Map available here.

Writers, you can book an exclusive 5 minute meeting with the publisher, editor or agent of your choice to pitch your manuscript. There are limited spots available, tickets will sell on a first in, first served basis.

You must be a WA-based writer with a completed fiction manuscript by festival day on October 19th 2024 to be eligible to pitch.

Pitch session tickets are $55 and only get you into the pitch session. To attend the main Festival of Fiction auditorium as an audience member, you must have a separate Day Pass.

You DON’T need a Day Pass to pitch. These two tickets are completely separate to each other.

Tickets for pitch sessions will be on sale on August 24th 2024 at 12.00 PM AWST.

Each writer can only book ONE SESSION MAXIMUM to ensure the maximum number of local writers get a turn. Please note: if you book more than one pitch session for the same writer, any extra tickets will be cancelled and refunds not issued.

Between them, our lineup of industry leaders will be listening to pitches for all readership age groups from children’s to young adult to adult fiction.
