About this Event
We will leave at 5:30 pm from the Graduate Hotel, and return to the Graduate around 7:30 pm. This month, Gallery Night and The Avenue Concept (TAC) bring to you the first event of a three-part series titled “Gallery Night Providence and The Avenue Concept: Experience the best of both!”, showcasing Providence’s inviting indoor gallery spaces and vibrant outdoor art scene. This series is funded through a grant from RI Commerce.
This tour will be led by Gallery Night Guide Danielle Wolfrum with Guest Guide Bob Dilworth, a beloved Providence-based artist and RISD graduate who has been painting and creating for over 55 years! We will visit the following locations and exhibits:
- - At Anahid Ypres’s studio you can get an inside look at the artist’s studio and appreciate seeing both in progress & finished paintings! Her work touches on subjects ranging from landscapes & the figure, to abstract still lifes. This month, explore the work of guest artist, , who creates abstract paintings that glow under UV blacklight. The paintings are from her series “Looking Inwards” and draw inspiration from the ecosystem of coral reefs.
- - presents Snapshot America: A Portrait of the United States in 2024. This exhibition, intended to act as a time capsule, represents everyday America from a multitude of individual perspectives and provides a chance to reflect on and record what America is today. Fading Glimpses of the Midwest is an accompanying solo presentation by Robin W. Bailey featuring documentation of the unique character of the American Midwest.
- - An exhibit titled Family Ties, a celebration of family, art and creativity. Exhibiting artists include Michelle Guillet and her daughter, Autumn McIntyre with Bill Rice and his son, Jason Rice. The opening reception occurs on Gallery Night accompanied by light refreshments for viewers.
- Mural Activation: / / - TAC will host a Pop-up at the Mathewson Street Lot sharing stories of three spectacular murals: Garden of Journey’s Salt Water, BEZT’s She Never Came and Lauren YS’s NEW PVDFEST commissioned mural “帝国崛起 (Empire Rising)” - The Pop-up will feature a parking space takeover, illuminated and animated murals, art chairs by local artists, and complimentary cocoa & coffee.

PARKING SPECIAL: The Graduate will offer a discounted parking rate to attendees at $12/per car for the October 17th Gallery Night. Discounted rate stickers can be picked up at the hotel’s front desk and are to be placed on the back side of the parking ticket guests get as they enter the Biltmore Garage.
Half of the seats on the trolley or mini coach will always be available (first-come, first-served), completely free, to anyone who shows up on Gallery Night!
The other half of the seats are available to reserve in advance via Eventbrite. We ask that you donate $1 when you check out, for the convenience of guaranteeing your spot on the tour of your choice ahead of time.
Reserving Multiple Tickets? Eventbrite requires you to make a separate reservation for each ticket. Each time you put in an order, it's only for one ticket (even if you choose to donate more than $1). For example, tickets for 3 people would be 3 separate orders, each with a $1 donation.
Accessibility notes:
- Anahid Ypres Art Studio and RI Center for Photographic Arts are not wheelchair accessable :(
- Many of the Gallery Night art spaces are wheelchair accessible. However, the trolleys we hire for Gallery Night cannot accommodate wheelchairs.
- All tours involve some walking and some stops may include stairs.
- We invite wheelchair users to enjoy self-guided tours on Gallery Night, and have created some suggestions (make your own tour tab on our website) where we note which galleries are wheelchair accessible.
Some notes to help you out the night of the event!
- We recommend arriving to the Graduate 5 to 10 minutes before your tour time. One of our volunteers will be at a podium with a Gallery Night banner, near the main entrance, and will check you in and answer any questions!
- If your plans change, please remember to cancel your Eventbrite reservation so that someone else can enjoy the tour.
- Tours occasionally run late. We recommend allowing buffer time if you're planning on attending another event after ours.
We have other guided tours the same night! Go to our Eventbrite Organizer Page and scroll down, the other tours will be listed under "Upcoming Events."
