The Lumpkin County Historical Society is pleased to announce that we will have the 1884 Old Jail Museum open from 10 am - 4 pm on SATURDAY July 4th, 2026 to celebrate our nation's founding.
One special exhibit will be an actual copy of the Declaration of Independence which was sent to Georgia (one of the 13 colonies) that announced our breakup from England.
We will also have a new display of antique miners tools and artifacts and antique childrens toys for the kids to play with.
