The 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, with the theme “𝘽𝙚 𝙖 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙚𝙜𝙖𝙘𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙚,” will be held on October 3, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the University of the East Theater
The convention comes at a particularly important time as recent incidents of school violence further highlight the need to strengthen efforts in peace education, prevention, dialogue, and community involvement. As an organization committed to peace education and peacebuilding, HWPL believes that addressing these challenges requires more than the efforts of one sector. Schools, families, government, faith communities, youth, civil society, and the media all have an important role to play in creating safer and more peaceful communities.
Since its first gathering in 2023, the annual convention has provided a platform for diverse sectors to come together in support of peace. Building on the previous conventions, the 4th National Peace Convention aims to inspire participants to reflect on the kind of legacy they wish to leave behind and, more importantly, to begin living that legacy through their daily choices, relationships, communities, and service to others.
This year's convention is expected to gather around 1,000 peace advocates, cultural and religious leaders, educators, youth, media professionals, and civil society organizations to share experiences, highlight collective efforts, and explore how different sectors can work together to build a culture of peace, particularly among the younger generation.
