Legacy Seminar: Growing for the Whole Table - Flowers and Food
Join the Grosse Pointe Garden Center's 75th celebration with a day of learning how to successfully grow both food AND flowers in your garden, no matter how much - or how little - space you have!
Denise Schrieber will present techniques to Make Your Garden Thrive in 2025. From scrumptious recipes using edible flowers to myth busting in gardening and landscape practice, Denise will share a breadth of horticultural knowledge and experience. Whether you are remodeling your garden, looking for new triumphs or just beginning to garden, you will walk away enriched, entertained, and ready to grow!
Melinda Myers’ presentation will focus on Beautiful and Flavorful Container Gardens, sharing how you can grow beautiful container gardens filled with flowers, herbs, vegetables, and fruit plants. New compact vegetable and fruit varieties make it possible for just about anyone, no matter where they live, to grow their favorite food. Growing in containers allows you to enjoy the beauty and convenience of harvesting fresh produce right outside your door. Melinda will share attractive combinations and provide tips to maximize your harvest while keeping containers looking their best.
In addition to the speakers, seminar attendees will have the opportunity to:
