It is our honour and pleasure to invite you to the 4th International Conference of the Centre of Australian Studies, titled "Reading Disruptions, Mapping Alterities: of Australian Trans-Tendings, and India in an Age of Reimagined Plurilaterals", scheduled to be held on February 3rd and 4th, 2026, at Bankura University in Bankura, India. The conference theme for this year seeks to interrogate the current geopolitical routines and reimagines the routes to disruption, alterity, and trans-tending that are reshaping the evolving relationship between India and Australia in a climate of contemporary global churn. It aims to explore as to how literature, culture, and diplomacy mediate new plurilateral visions of connectedness – how the Global South may be read not merely as a site of response, but a space ready for the promise of creative reconfiguration and intellectual renewal.
