4th Global Conference on Environmental Education & Lifelong Learning (EELL)

The 4th Global Conference on Environmental Education and Lifelong Learning, organized by the Pan African Centre for Climate Policy, will be held in Canada on October 15-16, 2024. Under the theme "Empowering Women and Girls for a Sustainable Future: Lifelong Learning in Environmental Stewardship," the event aims to foster critical discussions at the nexus of gender equality, education, and environmental sustainability. As climate change and environmental degradation intensify, education emerges as a key driver for transformation. The conference emphasizes empowering women and girls—who are disproportionately affected by environmental challenges yet serve as vital agents of change—through inclusive, gender-responsive lifelong learning initiatives. Attendees will include policymakers, educators, environmentalists, gender advocates, youth leaders, and community stakeholders from around the world. Core focus areas encompass integrating gender perspectives into curricula, enhancing women’s leadership in environmental governance, leveraging digital tools for environmental literacy, and advocating for policies aligned with SDGs 5 and 13. The conference seeks to promote innovative practices, strengthen networks, and develop actionable policy recommendations to mainstream gender considerations in environmental education.
