4th Annual Winter Solstice — Huitzilopochtli CeremonyDate: Saturday, December 20, 2025
Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Eastview Recreation Center, Saint Paul, MN
Each year, as the winter sun begins to rise once more, we gather to answer the ancestral call — the knocking that reminds us to return to balance, to light, and to community.
This marks our fourth year holding the Huitzilopochtli Ceremony, a sacred Mexica tradition honoring the birth of the Sun and the triumph of light over darkness.
In the teachings of our ancestors, Huitzilopochtli — the spirit of the Sun and of willpower — was born of Coatlicue, the Great Mother Earth. As she swept the temple, a ball of feathers descended from the heavens and touched her womb. From this divine act came the birth of Huitzilopochtli, who rose in brilliance to defend his mother and bring forth the dawn, overcoming the darkness of night.
Through this story, we are reminded that even in the deepest winter, light is reborn — within the land, the people, and our own hearts.
We invite the community to come together in this ceremonial space of renewal, strength, and collective care, as we align ourselves with the energy of the season and prepare for the cycles to come.
