Dr. Julie-Ann Scott-Pollock “Stories of Raising Boys”

Dr. Scott-Pollock is a professor of Communication Studies and Performance Studies at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. During her presentation she will share powerful narratives on raising boys, and explore themes of family, communication, and identity.
Chinese Calligraphy Workshop Presented by Dr. Huiming Xu

Learn the art of Chinese calligraphy, including writing techniques and fundamental knowledge. This workshop is designed for those with no prior experience in calligraphy or knowledge of the Chinese writing system. Dr. Huiming Xu, visiting scholar in the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of North Carolina, will provide an overview of Chinese calligraphy, showcase his published artwork, and lead a demonstration of writing techniques before inviting attendees to participate in hands-on calligraphy practice.
