4th Annual Deadlift Competition at Lincoln Highway Days

This event is held as part of the Lincoln Highway Days in Nevada, IA. The event this year will be on Saturday, August 26th in Dueland Pavilion at the Story County Fairgrounds. Weigh-ins will begin at 11:00 a.m., rules meeting at 12:45, with lifting to start at 1:00 p.m.

Registrations will be limited to 50 lifters. There will be 2 platforms.

Meet format: At weigh-in, confirm your opening bar weight. After each successful lift, you will stop at the worker table to tell us your next bar weight. If you miss a lift, you will stay at that weight for another attempt. Each lifter will have 3 attempts.

You are allowed to pull conventional or sumo, equipped or raw, shoes are optional and no suit is required. Straps are allowed. KNEE HIGH SOCKS OR SHIN COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED. Do not drop the bar. Lock out at the top and wait for the down command. Dropping the bar and/or not locking out at the top will result in a missed lift. Minimal hitching will be tolerated - pausing on the thighs or downward movement of the bar will result in a missed lift.

Entry Fee: $25 with pre-registration, $35 with a t-shirt

$35 to register the day of the event - walk-ups will be accepted

Pre-registration ends at noon on Saturday, August 5th. This helps to ensure that event shirts will be available.

Winner determined by DOTS Score.

$300 cash scholarship for best overall male and female lifter in the High School Division

$100 cash prize for best overall male and female lifter outside the HS Division

In consideration of your acceptance of this entry, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, waive any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against individuals associated with this event, it’s agents, successors and assigns, for any and all injuries suffered by me in said event. I attest and verify that I have full knowledge of the risks involved in this event and I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to participate in this event.
