Every year, the Live Like Ava Mickelson Foundation hosts our annual 1-Mile Fun Run to honor our sweet Ava and rally our community around a local family in need. This year, we are dedicating Ava's Bigfoot Stomp to an incredible 12-year-old girl right here in Spanish Fork: Emree Mortensen.
Our goal is to get 300 registered runners/walkers to show up, lace up, and show the Mortensen family they do not have to walk this road alone.

Date: Saturday, September 12th, 2026
Location: Legacy Farms Park, Spanish Fork
Check-in & Packet Pickup: 8:00 AM
Race Start: 9:00 AM
Distance: 1-Mile Fun Run (Perfect for all ages, strollers, and paces!)
💛 EMREE’S STORY
The Mortensen family (Troy, Julee, Emree, and her sister Ada) have been a beloved part of our Spanish Fork community for 13 years.
On April 30th of this year, Emree’s world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Embryonal Sarcoma of the Liver (UELS)—a rare liver cancer. This brave girl is currently undergoing four rounds of grueling chemotherapy, which will be followed by a partial to full liver transplant, and additional chemotherapy in the coming months.
Emree is a fighter who loves school, cheer, music, traveling, and hanging out with her friends. Every single registration from this event goes directly toward helping the Mortensens navigate the massive medical journey ahead.
