41 drawings workshop @ The Wellcome Collection

Each person is given a small A6 sketchbook and a stick of graphite. The objective of the workshop is to walk through the free exhibition and make 41 fast paced drawings in 2 hours. 

We will be visiting the two free exhibitions at The Wellcome Collection:

‘Hard Graft: Work, Health and Rights’ delves into the stories of underrepresented workers and their rights within precarious and unsafe labour environments. From protests to healing practices, the exhibition unveils hidden histories of resistance and collective action.

What do you know about the kola nut? This bitter-tasting fruit has been important in West African culture and trade since at least the 11th century. Consumed as a stimulant due to its high caffeine content, kola has many religious, medicinal and social uses, and is a ritual symbol of goodwill and unity.

There will be lots of objects and starting points for conversation and inspiration to make some drawings. 

All abilities welcome and this workshop is free to access. This specific session is hosted by Nima @nima.shafiani who works as an artist in today's London. 

We will meet as a group at the main entrance of the Wellcome Collection at 1.45pm and the session will start at 2pm.
