Beginning on Sunday, November 4, 1984, forty-eight people met to organize a new church in the Cedar Creek Lake area. The purpose was to reach out evangelistically to all ages. They wanted to be a mission-minded, Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church led by the Holy Spirit to be what Christ intended to church to be. In December 1985, the church constitued and closed its charter with 84 members.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of First Baptist Church Gun Barrel City. We invite all former staff and members to be part of this weekend celebration and reunion.
