Slowly build up your forces in this Escalation tournament.6 players will battle it out in 3 matches. 500pts, 1000pts, culminating in a 1500pts game!
Unique rules will force commanders to think strategically about which units they bring on and start with.
Join us for a three-round Warhammer 40,000 escalation tournament at Hail Mary Games. We’ll start small at 500 points, where every unit matters, scale up to 1000 points for full strike force clashes, and finish with a climactic 1500-point war. Official missions and terrain layouts will keep things fair and competitive, while the escalation format rewards smart list-building and adaptability.
Special Rules for the Escalation Tournament
To keep the event balanced, fun, and streamlined, the following special rules apply:
- Each player must submit one 1500-point army list before the event begins. Submissions can be made by messaging the facebook page or emailing [email protected]
This list must be built using the standard matched play rules (e.g. points, detachments, enhancements).
- The 500pt and 1000pt armies used in Rounds 1 and 2 must be built entirely from the units in this master roster.
- Wargear is locked in as per choices made in your 1500pt list.
- A single Warlord must be declared and must feature in all lists.
Battlefield Size
500pts: Played on a smaller battlefield (44″ × 30″).
1000pts and 1500pts: Standard battlefield (44″ × 60″).
Official terrain layouts will be followed, scaled appropriately for the smaller game.

Primary Mission: Take & Hold (3 objective markers, 1 centre, 1 in each deployment zone)
Fixed Secondaries: Assassination & No Prisioners
Deployment: Hammer & Anvil
Terrain: Will be heavy to avoid ranged focused armies dominating.
1000pt Round -
Primary Mission: Linchpin
Secondarys drawn from the 25/26 mission deck
Deployment: Search & Destroy
1500pt Round -
Primary: Take & Hold
Secondarys drawn from the 25/26 mission deck
