🎉 SLC 40th Anniversary Celebration
Saturday 25th October
This year marks an incredible milestone for the Sustainable Living Centre as we celebrate 40 years of growing food, sharing knowledge, and building a more resilient community together.
To honour this occasion, we’ll be hosting a free community celebration (funding pending) and inviting everyone who has been part of the SLC journey over the past four decades to join us. Whether you’ve volunteered in the gardens, attended workshops, supported the kiosk, shared your skills, or simply enjoyed spending time at the centre, we’d love to celebrate with you.
There will be a shared koha meal, time to reconnect, reflect on how far we’ve come, and acknowledge the many people whose passion and dedication have shaped the SLC into what it is today. It’s a chance to celebrate our collective impact and look ahead to the next chapter together.
🌼 Spring Merriment
Sunday 26th October
The celebrations continue the following day with the return of our much-loved Spring Merriment festival!
Join us for a joyful day welcoming the new season with live music, storytelling and dance performances, interactive games and crafts, seasonal kai and drinks, maramataka wisdom sharing, and the return of our colourful Maypole dance. Don’t forget to dress up for the Best-Dressed Spring Maiden Award and enjoy a day of connection, creativity, and community in the gardens.
