Brought to you by Auckland Council Waste Solutions as a part of the Albert-Eden and Puketāpapa Eco Festival!Join us for a four week journey into furniture upcycling and restoration. Everything you need will be supplied, and you’re welcome to bring a small project of your own to work on throughout the course.
You’ll learn the four key steps of restoring wooden furniture:
Strip, Sand, Stain and Seal.
We’ll cover the full range of tools and products, talk through how to handle breaks, cracks and borer, then get started on your individual projects. Please bring a small item such as a bedside table or set of drawers made from solid, simple timber. Harder or native woods are ideal rather than pine.Important notes
• Please arrive on time for the health and safety briefing.
• Bring your own rubber gloves.
• This workshop is for adults only due to safety requirements.
• Bring a small practice piece rather than something precious.
All items go home with you after each session.
• Wear covered shoes and fitted clothing. Some activities may take place outside, so bring a sun hat and sunscreen if needed
.• Wear old clothes and bring a water bottle and snacks.
