What is a Silent Retreat?
A silent retreat offers a unique opportunity to deepen your practice in a supportive environment. Participants observe mauna, or noble silence, which includes refraining from speaking, using phones or devices, and even reading. Though it may initially seem challenging, silence naturally brings a profound sense of peace, allowing your mind to quiet and meditation to flow more easily. Silence clears away distractions and helps you access deeper insights and emotional clarity.

Why Meditation?
Meditation is an ancient practice known for its transformative benefits. It cultivates not only relaxation and calm but also self-awareness, self-love, and inner peace. During the retreat, you will reconnect with your essence and the deeper sense of being, leading to a greater sense of connection and purpose.

Why “Heart Awakening”?
This retreat is rooted in the tradition of Hridaya Yoga—a spiritual path that emphasizes non-duality (advaita) and self-inquiry. Hridaya combines wisdom from diverse spiritual traditions, including Kashmir Shaivism, Buddhism, Sufism, Yoga, and Christian mysticism. At its core, it focuses on awakening the Heart, which is seen as the seat of pure love and inner truth.
The teachings invite participants to experience the wisdom of the heart, as poet Rumi beautifully expressed: “Close your eyes, fall in love, stay there.”

Why Do a Retreat?
A silent retreat offers an unparalleled opportunity for immersion in self-inquiry and personal transformation. With no distractions from the outside world, the retreat setting allows you to deeply engage in meditation, reflection, and personal growth. It is the perfect time to reset, clear emotional and mental clutter, and rediscover your inner alignment.

What Can I Expect?
Throughout the retreat, you will experience a balanced schedule of meditation, yoga, and teachings designed to deepen your understanding of non-duality and the art of self-inquiry. The daily practice includes:
Meditation sessions
Inspirational talks on yoga, meditation and the universal teachings of all authentic spiritual traditions
Hridaya Hatha Yoga practice to relax the body
Time for rest, walks, or journaling
Q&A and technique presentations
This retreat is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators, offering the tools to establish and expand your own practice. By the end of the retreat, you will feel a sense of clarity, emotional release, and spiritual awakening.
