Please join us on April 19th 2026 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to learn the art of Beyond basic breads. You will learn the following:
🥯 English Muffins: Soft Dough, Gentle Fermentation
Students begin with a tender, enriched dough that teaches careful handling. They learn how to shape uniform rounds, manage a stovetop griddle, and create the signature nooks and crannies that define a great English muffin. T
🧈 Crumpets: Batter-Based Bubbles and Griddle Technique
The class shifts to a demonstration using a pourable yeast batter, introducing a completely different approach to leavening and texture. Students explore how steam, hydration, and heat create the iconic honeycomb surface. They learn how using crumpet rings, controlling heat for even bubbling, and adjusting batter consistency for perfect rise and browning.
🥨 Pretzel Bites & Buns: Alkaline Baths and Deep Browning
The final portion dives into a firmer, low‑hydration dough that teaches kneading, shaping, and the transformative power of an alkaline dip. Students roll ropes for pretzel bites, shape buns for sandwiches, and learn how the baking soda (or lye) bath creates that unmistakable pretzel flavor and chew.
***Please note that this class involves taking home dough to be cooked/ baked at home. Please bring a cooler to hold your dough in if you will not be returning straight home.
What your class includes
Recipes and ingredients to bring home dough for 6 English muffins and ½ pound of pretzel dough to make pretzel bites or buns at home.
Instructor led demonstration on how to make crumpet batter, with fresh crumpets for tasting.
Complementary light refreshments .
Question and answer session to discuss what we have learned
Please bring;
An apron to protest your clothes
A bag to bring home your dough and goodies
Please note, this class will include the following allergens- Gluten, dairy and eggs.

The workshop is limited to 8 participants. We must have a minimum of 4 to hold the workshop. If we do not meet the minimum by April 14, 2026 we will refund your workshop fees.
Due to the customization at ALL our workshops, there are NO REFUNDS FOR WORKSHOPS! However, if you are ill or if you cancel with at least 48 hours notice your FULL reservation fee will be turned into a store credit that can ONLY be used for future workshops.
