Call to celebrate
Saint Patrick with the Ancient Order of Hibernians in
Saint Charles MO
March 17th 2025 at 4pm
The St. Charles Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Michael J. Roarty Division #1 is a fraternal organization for Irish Catholic men founded in 1836. The group promotes the values of "Friendship Unity and Christian Charity."
Each year AOH and the City of St. Charles MO host a family-friendly St. Patrick's Day parade on March 17 which starts at 4 PM to accommodate schoolchildren and their families. The parade features over 70 participants including local schools organizations and families. Last year around 30000 people attended many of whom were children.
Before the parade AOH organizes a special Hedge Row Mass near the Lewis & Clark Boathouse and Museum inviting participants to honor their Catholic faith. The event encourages family participation and discourages public drinking. With the City the AOH sells shirts to raise funds for charity. The proceeds benefit 14 local organizations including Youth in Need St. Vincent DePaul Society and Our Lady of Way Shrine.
Schools and charitable organizations can register to participate in the parade free of charge through the City of St. Charles website at https://www.stcharlescitymo.gov/1039/St-Patricks-Day-Parade
