Music of 3 Centuries and 3 Continents by 3 Performers
Festival of the Senses presents the first event of its 2025–26 season, “3 x 3 x 3,” music of three centuries and three continents by three performers, on Tuesday, September 16, at 7:00 p.m. The concert, featuring violinist Andrew Irvin, cellist David Gerstein, and pianist Jaeyeon Park, will be held at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church, 4106 JFK Boulevard in North Little Rock, and is free and open to the public. A reception in the Parish Hall will follow the performance.
The September 16 program will include works from Europe, Asia, and North America: the Piano Trio No. 3 in C Minor for Piano, Violin, and Cello in four movements by German composer Johannes Brahms (1833–1897), plus a group of compositions for violin and piano: the Violin Sonata No. 2 in G Major, “Sonata Española,” in three movements by Spaniard Joaquin Turina (1882–1949); “Arirang,” a traditional centuries-old Korean folk song, arranged by Welsh composer Christian Morris (b. 1974); Aria for Violin and Piano by American musician Kevin Puts (b. 1972); and “Blues” by American jazz artist David Baker (1931–2016).
Festival of the Senses was created in 2011 by Saint Luke’s as a gift of the performing arts to the community to entertain, enlighten, and inspire, and all events are free and open to the public, thanks to the support of sponsors, donors, audience members, and grants from the Arkansas Arts Council, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, and the National Endowment for the Arts. It is the only year-round series of its kind in North Little Rock showcasing the region’s most distinguished and dedicated musicians and performing artists in a wide range of genres, from classical to bluegrass, gospel, opera, rock and roll, and Americana to dance, drama, and comedy.
