MAHALO TO PEAR CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL for generously offering their recycling drive date to Waipahu High School, whose drive was unfortunately canceled in February due to weather conditions.
This 3Rs School Recycling Drive will be located at 94-1211 Farrington Hwy, Waipahu, HI 96797, on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 from 9-11am.
-RESIDENTIAL DROP OFFS ONLY
-NO COMMERCIAL OR GOVERNMENT DROP OFFS.
-ONE TRUCKLOAD per person/household/neighbor complex school
WE WILL BE COLLECTING:
-Scrap metal collected in partnership with RADIUS RECYCLING (bicycles, metal desks, filing cabinets, other appliances, etc.)
-*We CANNOT accept items with refrigerants like ACs and refrigerators, or compressed gas cylinders, microwaves, light bulbs, see flier attached for more.*
-Electronics collected in partnership with T&N COMPUTER RECYCLING SERVICES & HAWAIIAN HOPE (including computers, TVs, laptops, large toner and printer cartridges, cell phones, cameras, game systems & more)Please do not cut cables or damage.
- **We CANNOT accept smart boards, light bulbs, large commercial printer/copiers at this event, see flier for more**
-Please, ONE TV per car / per household
-Household goods and personal documents for off-site shredding with GOODWILL INDUSTRIES HAWAII. *Limit 2 boxes of papers per vehicle / per household.
*NO baby equipment, No mattresses, no futons please
-NO household or car batteries
-Used Household Cooking Oil only (NO commercial, restaurant/food truck used oil) collected in partnership with PACIFIC BIODIESEL. *Limit to 2 Gallons per household / vehicle ONLY
-Redeemable HI-5 beverage cans & bottles containers, collected in partnership with REYNOLDS RECYCLING. *PLS. REMOVE CAPS.
-All Proceeds from redeemable HI-5 beverage containers (remove caps), scrap metal and used cooking oil will serve as a fundraiser for the host school!
The 3Rs School Recycling Drives are coordinated by Kōkua Hawaiʻi Foundation as part of the 3Rs School Program and are made possible through sponsorship from Radius Recycling and support from other local recycling partners including Pacific Biodiesel, T&N Computer Recycling, Reynolds Recycling, Goodwill Industries Hawai`i, and Hawaiian Hope.
3Rs Drives provide opportunities for schools, families & community members to drop off a variety of items for ReUse and ReCycling.
