About this Event
Welcome to the 3rd New Perspectives on the History of African and Caribbean People in Britain Conference!
Join us in person at BSix College for a day filled with insightful discussions, engaging presentations, and networking opportunities. This 3rd instalment of History Matters New Perspectives Conference aims to spotlight new and emergent research on the histories of African and Caribbean communities in Britain.
Our last two New Perspectives Conferences culminated in the publication of those presented papers, in a book edited by Professor Hakim Adi. These Conferences form an important part of the work by History Matters, a collective which aims to expand the field of 'Black British History', expand public knowledge of this history, and build an inclusive historical field for people of all age ranges, educational backgrounds and regions to share in this knowledge. We look forward to seeing you there!
