3rd Annual Recycle the Runway Gala

THIS IS FASHION WITH A PURPOSE
Every year, Dress for Success Reno – Northern Nevada brings together local designers, community supporters, and the women at the heart of our mission for a night unlike anything else in northern Nevada.
Recycle the Runway is a live fashion competition and fundraising gala. Local designers apply to compete for a cause. Before a single stitch is sewn, volunteers fill bags with donated clothing, shoes, and accessories — items generously given but not quite workplace-ready. This year, denim takes center stage. Each accepted designer chooses a bag without knowing what's inside. From there, they have six weeks to build a runway-worthy piece. At least 80% of the finished design must come from what they were given. The rest is entirely up to them.
On the night of the gala, the designs are revealed for the first time — and every designer takes the stage to share the story behind their creation. Pieces are judged on theme, craftsmanship, creativity, and full head-to-toe presentation. The top three designers take home cash prizes, with $1,500 awarded to the first-place winner.
The most powerful moment of the night belongs to the runway itself. The women walking it are the women Dress for Success Reno serves — employed, moving forward, and stepping into their next chapter in front of an audience that helped make it possible. Their walk is the whole point.

Since 2017, we’ve served over 1700 women in Northern Nevada. By supporting our fundraising event, you are helping us continue to reach more women in NNV who need our confidence-building workforce development programs.
Every dollar raised on August 21 goes directly to supporting the women Dress for Success Reno serves — through Styling, career and life skills coaching, interview preparation, and our no-fee Shop for Success Thrift Boutique. One night of community support reaches women who are ready to work and build the foundation to stay there.
Reserve your seat now. Individual tickets are $280 per person, and tables are available. Ticket registration closes on August 7, 2026.
