Presented by Madtown Artisans, the Madison Mental Health Market is a vibrant mix of local makers, creators, authors, and artists whose lives and creativity were influenced by living through trauma, emotional distress, life circumstances, and all the other complex human experiences that systems like to describe as “mental health.”
As I'm sure you've suspected if you've made it this far, this market isn’t just about selling art.
It’s about community.
It's about people who have survived some things finding each other & saying, "I see you" to one another across tables and displays of prints, ceramics, yarn, zines, herbal remedies, paintings, cookies, stickers, poetry, and artistic alchemy in general.
Right now, many of the systems that are supposed to support people, mental health services, social programs, & community safety nets are being dismantled or hollowed out. And I know y'all know that when systems and institutions leave a void, the Madison community steps up.
That’s what this market is.
Mutual care.
Shared identities.
Trust.
Support.
Community.
Mr. Rogers' momma said that in difficult times, we should "look for the helpers. There are always people who are helping." That's also what this market is. An entire space filled to the brim with people saying, YES, WE ARE HERE. We are still creating. We are still supporting one another. We still care.
If you’re a maker, creator, or artist with lived experience and if maybe your story has found its way into your creations, we would love to see you at the Madison Mental Health Market as a vendor.
First time vendors, emerging artists, disabled, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, & CCS consumers encouraged to apply.
Every story deserves respect and every creator deserves space at the table to share their story and their art. Help us in continuing to create something beautiful and powerful for a third year.
Vendor applications are open NOW and will close on March 28th, 2026 at 11:59p. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc8m2zsUDjOpYl7XupDE8eoIH7PF5gvFxRDAX6-eGmJVB-aQw/viewform

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION:
Madtown Artisans is committed to creating an inclusive, accessible, welcoming, and accommodating event environment for all vendors and attendees.
This event is wheelchair accessible.
The event is being held at SOAR (Supporting Opportunities for Advocacy & Resilience) inside the building and in their parking lot. The parking lot is paved and has accessible parking available. The building has a ramp to the front entrance as well as door openers for accessibility.
The restroom available upstairs is large enough for wheelchair and other mobility aid users as well as having pull bars available near the toilet. There is a sharps container available in the upstairs restroom.
There is a water fountain available upstairs in the building and salt will be available near the water fountain for anyone who needs increased salt intake.
We ask that attendees refrain from wearing strong fragrances in order to be respectful of those with allergies and environmental sensitivities.
There will be a quiet room available for those who may be overstimulated, need a quiet area to regulate themselves, and for those who need a break so they can then continue enjoying the event.
We plan to clearly sign routes of travel inside the building as well as outside.
Mask usage is encouraged inside to protect those in our community who are more vulnerable to illness.
SOAR is a dog friendly office Monday through Friday. There may be service animals present, including dogs or cats. Despite regular cleaning, trace elements of allergens and dander may be present.
If you have any specific accessibility questions, please contact Madtown Artisans at madtownartisans @gmail.com by May 16, 2026
