We are thrilled to announce the 3rd Annual George Portz Memorial Fiddle Contest and Bluegrass Show, April 26th 2025 beginning at 5pm at Klucker Hall (14 Park Dr) in Shiloh IL! This exciting event will be held in honor of the legendary George Portz, celebrating his remarkable contributions to the world of fiddle and bluegrass music.
Mark your calendars and join us for a Saturday evening filled with incredible performances, friendly competition, and a shared love for traditional music. Whether you are a seasoned musician, an aspiring fiddler, or simply a fan of bluegrass, this event promises to be a memorable experience for all.
Doors open at 5pm with contest registration and a tribute to George Portz. Refreshments can be purchased at the hall or you may bring your own snacks and drinks! Special performances by George Portz’s Friends of Bluegrass and Grassroots bluegrass band.
CASH prizes and trophies awarded for 1st thru 5th place in both Junior and Open divisions. The George Portz Memorial Championship Trophy will be awarded to the fiddler with the highest overall score in either division. This monumental award holds a special significance, as the winner will be taking home a trophy from George Portz’s personal collection.
