The 3rd Annual “Frida Fest”, produced by the Norma Group, hosted by Epic Central, Grand Prairie, Texas, is a FREE three-day event whose mission is to not only celebrate the accomplishments of this renowned and globally recognized artist, commonly known simply as “Frida” (Frida Kahlo/1907-1954), but to also highlight the internal “Frida” in all of us. To showcase the internal leadership, strength, courage and sense of community spirit that shines bright in all our proud Latinas.
El 3er “Frida Fest” Anual, producido por Grupo Norma y presentado por Epic Central, en Grand Prairie, Texas, es un evento GRATUITO de tres días cuya misión no solo es celebrar los logros de esta renombrada y reconocida artista a nivel mundial, conocida simplemente como “Frida” (Frida Kahlo/1907-1954), sino también destacar la “Frida” interna que hay en todos nosotros. Para mostrar el liderazgo interno, la fortaleza, el valor y el sentido de espíritu comunitario que brilla en todas nuestras orgullosas latinas.
The FREE three-day event will highlight Latinas from across Texas: Artists, Elected Officials, DJ’s, Musicians, and a full Market of the finest arts and crafts dedicated to our beloved Frida.
El evento GRATUITO de tres días destacará a latinas de todo Texas: artistas, funcionarias electas, DJs, músicos y un mercado completo con las mejores artesanías dedicadas a nuestra querida Frida.
In addition, a “Best Frida” contest will be held Saturday, May 9, between 8pm – 10pm, with a cash prize of $1,954 (year of death) for the 1st Place winer as there can be only ONE Frida! Community leaders will select the finalist, and the winner will be determined by audience participation.
Además, se llevará a cabo un concurso “Mejor Frida” el sábado 9 de mayo, entre las 8 p. m. y las 10 p. m., con un premio en efectivo de $1,954 (año de fallecimiento) para el ganador del 1er lugar, ¡ya que solo puede haber UNA Frida! Los líderes comunitarios seleccionarán a los finalistas, y el ganador se determinará mediante la participación del público.
The Full Festival and Market will take place on Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 10, from 12:00pm – 6:00pm and will host the best Mexican street concessions from throughout the State of Texas and will include a VIP lounge with full bar menu to truly captivate the Frida spirit, all within in the heart of Grand Prairie, Texas.
El Festival y Mercado completo se llevará a cabo el domingo, Día de la Madre, 10 de mayo, de 12:00 p.m. a 6:00 p.m. y contará con los mejores puestos de comida callejera mexicana de todo el estado de Texas, e incluirá un lounge VIP con un menú completo de bar para capturar verdaderamente el espíritu de Frida, todo en el corazón de Grand Prairie, Texas.
