3rd Annual Foodies of Lafayette Friendsgiving Potluck & Food Drive
About this Event
Our third annual Friendsgiving Potluck and Food Drive is Sunday, November 1 at Lagneaux's, and every dollar we raise goes to the Lafayette Community Fridge.
Every year this turns into the biggest buffet in town. Last year y'all brought more than 200 homemade dishes, and we're counting on that many again.
Here's how it works. Everybody brings a dish, a way to serve that dish, and at least one non-perishable pantry item. That's your admission.
Doors open at 11:00 AM. Please plan on showing up with your dish at 11:00 so it's on the table when we open the food up to our guests.
We'll have four rooms going—savory in one, desserts in another, the silent auction and registration up front, and seating in the big room in back. Lagneaux's runs the bar and servers will take your drink order at the table.
The silent and live auctions are full of donations from restaurants and small businesses all over Acadiana. Tiffany takes the mic for the live auction at 12:15. We're also drawing the winner of the Lafayette Community Fridge crawfish quilt at 12:30—those raffle tickets are sold online only.
At 1:30 we start to package up every bit of leftover food and it goes straight into the Lafayette Community Fridges. That's one of the best parts of the day, and you're welcome to jump in and help.
A few things to know before you come:
One dish per person, not one per group. If four of y'all are coming, that's four dishes.
Bring the serving utensil your dish needs. It stays with your dish and goes home with you.
No crockpots, roasters or hot plates. The room can't handle the plugs. Sterno is fine.
Everything needs to show up fully cooked and ready to serve.
We provide the plates, cups, napkins and eating utensils.
Grab your dish on your way out at 2:00.
