3rd Annual Don't Fence Me In Youth Volunteer Awards Breakfast

Years ago, during a tough season of layoffs and obstacles, our Founder Ann-Erica Whitemarsh bought a simple western bracelet that said "Don't Fence Me In". She had just graduated college by the skin of her teeth. Her grades weren’t great, but had school records in volleyball and track, which was really all she went for anyway! Ann-Erica was told her dreams of building an adaptive rodeo program for individuals with special needs was an unrealistic idea and had little to no support.
She wore that bracelet religiously to remind myself that there was nothing stopping her and her faith from making Rascal Rodeo happen.
Today, that dream has grown into a movement across seven states, helping thousands of cowboys and cowgirls discover that their poss"abilities" are endless. But we didn't get here alone. We got here because of the incredible support from many including a generation of young individuals who show up to volunteer and pour their hearts into our participants. This is why the Don't Fence Me In Youth Volunteer Foundation Grant was created.
The purpose of this grant is to show our youth volunteers that we believe in them just as much as they believe in our participants. We want to support them as they head out into the real world, no matter the path they take, and remind them to never let anyone fence them in on their dreams!
