Artificial intelligence (AI) is advancing at a rapid pace, fueling a global buildout of data centers and driving projections for unprecedented electricity demand. As this growth collides with the realities of today's electric grid, policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers face difficult questions about reliability, affordability, land use, water availability, and the investments needed to build a more resilient energy system.
On Aug. 20, the Center for Energy Studies at Rice University’s Baker Institute and the Energy Institute at the Price School of Business at the University of Oklahoma will host “Energy, Technology, and Grid Resilience” to explore these challenges and the policies, technologies, and market solutions that can help meet them.
The event will feature posters showcasing graduate students’ research in this dynamic and expanding field. This event is free and open to the public.
