3D Printing and 3D Modelling for Homeschool Students
About this Event
In this Makerspace workshop, students will learn 3D printing and 3D modelling skills in TinkerCAD software. They can see lots of 3D printed examples and get a chance to make their own small 3D model creation to 3D print. When the models are 3D printed, they will likely take longer (usually a few hours) after the workshop to be completed. Participants are welcome to return in the following weeks to pick up their 3D print, or it can be posted in the mail at no cost.
BYO laptop is required for the 3D modelling part of the workshop (tablets, ipads and mobile devices are not compatible). Students can share one laptop between two. Before the workshop, participants can make an account with TinkerCAD software to save time on the day. Visit TinkerCAD to get started: https://www.tinkercad.com/
Any participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for 10+ year olds, students must already know how to use a computer confidently. The makerspace is a workshop environment with tools and equipment that could cause injury. Students must follow safety advice and not treat the Makerspace like a playground.
The Makerspace is located in R104, Level 1 R Block. It's easiest to park under the solar panels and walk in.
