39th Annual Chinese New Year Celebrations at River Hongbao 2025

River Hongbao 2025 is a vibrant celebration marking both the 39th Annual Chinese New Year and Singapore's 60th year of independence (SG60). Held at Gardens by the Bay from January 27 to February 5 2025 the event offers a rich tapestry of cultural experiences performances and interactive activities.

Event Highlights:

• Lantern Displays: The festival features over 20 captivating lantern sets including SG60-themed displays like "The Lion City" which showcases a replica of the Merdeka lion symbolizing Singapore's spirit of independence and "Joyful Years Ahead" highlighting nostalgic elements such as the iconic lion head roller coaster from the former Wonderland Amusement Park.
• Firecracker Displays: To commemorate SG60 the event will commence with 60 strands of firecrackers on January 27 at 8 PM at The Meadow. On the subsequent two nights January 28 and 29 there will be 30 strands of firecrackers each evening.
• Nightly Performances: Attendees can enjoy a dynamic mix of music dance and cultural showcases by local talents including artists like Joanna Dong and Shigga Shay as well as special performances by an overseas troupe from Yunnan China.
• Exhibition: "Greetings from Afar: Chinese Remittance Letters" is an exhibition that delves into the history of Chinese migration and the tradition of sending remittance letters highlighting their cultural and historical significance.
• Amusement Rides and Food Street: Families can enjoy a variety of amusement rides including the Double-Storey Horse Carousel Euro Swing and new attractions like the Space Shuttle and Mini Viking. The Food Street offers a wide array of culinary delights to satisfy diverse palates.
