Celebrate Independence Day with a scenic run along the Pacific Ocean and enjoy our 33rd Annual 4th of July 5K Run/Walk and Firecracker Dash at 8:00am with events starting in the heart of the Riviera Village, Redondo Beach! All participants will receive an Independence Day run t-shirt. There will be chip timing, age division awards, and cash prizes to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run. All kids dash finishers receive medals too!
Age Divisions Awards
Age divisions medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place female and male finishers in the following age divisions:
8 & Under 30-34 55-59 80 & Over
9-12 35-39 60-64
13-17 40-44 65-69
18-24 45-49 70-74
25-29 50-54 75-79
Race Course
The race course starts and finishes on Catalina Ave. near Palos Verdes Blvd. A water station will be located near the Elks Lodge near Catalina Ave. and Torrance Blvd. at the turnaround point.
Parking
Riviera Village has ample parking in the “triangle parking lot” located between Avenida Del Norte and S. Elena Street as well as individual spots on all streets. There is also ample paid parking available at the large lot near Miramar Park located along Paseo De La Playa.
Costume Contest
Join in on Costume Contest at the stage in the Coffee Cartel parking lot from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Enter with your patriotic best for a chance to win the following prizes:
1st Place – $100 gift certificate to the Village Runner
2nd Place – $75 gift certificate to the Village Runner
3rd Place – $50 gift certificate to the Village Runner
Post Race After Party
Make sure to walk over to HT Grill right after the race for the awards ceremony.
Benefits
Celebrate and give back to our local students. The Village Runner Independence Day 5K directly benefits the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and other local schools and running programs. A portion of YOUR registration fee from this race goes to these deserving groups each year.
