🌸 Invitation to the 31st Hungary Sakura Cup - and Sakura WeekendWe are happy to welcome you to the 31st Hungary Sakura Cup, a celebration of youth kendo dedicated to children, juniors, and young kendokas on an international stage.
This milestone event is more than a tournament—it is a weekend of growth, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.
Whether you are stepping onto the shiaijo for the very first time or returning to challenge yourself once again, the Sakura Cup offers an inspiring and supportive environment to learn, compete, and connect across borders.

Registration: 07:30–09:00 on Saturday
Competitions will run on 6 shiaijos; the order will be announced after the opening ceremony.

🌸 Competition Categories
Kihon (Basic Technique)
Includes kirikaeshi and uchikomi geiko on a motodachi in bogu - uchikomi includes: half a kirikaeshi (9 cuts), 2 men, 2 kote, 2 kote men, 2 do.
One category per competitor.
1. Kihon A: 5–9 yrs (girls & boys)
2. Kihon B: 10–13 yrs (girls & boys)
3. Kihon C: 14–17 yrs (girls & boys)
4. Kihon D: 18–24 yrs (girls & boys)
Shiai Categories:
One individual category per competitor.
Categories may be merged if necessary.
5. Junior A: 5–9 yrs (girls & boys)
6. Junior B: 10–12 yrs (girls & boys)
7. Junior C: 13–14 yrs (girls & boys)
8. Junior D: 15–17 yrs (boys only)
9. Junior E: 15–17 yrs (girls only)
10. Youth Men: 18–24 yrs
11. Youth Women: 18–24 yrs
12. Junior Team Event
Each team can have 5 kendokas.
Team order restriction in junior team event: Each junior category must fight with its counterpart
Senpo: 8-12 yrs
Jiho: 10-13 yrs
Chuken: 13-15 yrs
Fukusho: 16-18 yrs
Taisho: 16-24 yrs
Mixed teams are allowed (girls and boys).
The team order cannot be changed.
Each dojo can enter as many junior teams as possible.
Mixed teams from other dojos are allowed. Organizers will help to form teams.

🌸 Additional Notes
Clubs are kindly asked to bring their own taskis (red/white ribbons).
Photos and videos may be taken and published online or in media.
Organizers reserve the right to adjust the schedule and categories if needed.
Please bring your own set of "taski"s to the event (ribbon - red and white). Each competitor’s helper is responsible for placing the "taski" (ribbon - red or white) on the competitor before each match.
