The contest is open to all photographers – casual, amateur and professional.
Awards: Best in Show: $300; 1st in Category: $100; 2nd in Category: $50; 3rd in Category: $25;
Special Recognition: Ribbon
Entry fees: SMAC Members $10 per entry
Non-members $15 per entry
Youth category (18 and under, or enrolled high school student) - No fee

Eligible Entries:
ENTRY DEADLINE: April 24, 2026
• Photos printed on paper must be framed. Photos printed on canvas, metal or wood are acceptable unframed.
Youth entries may be matted and/or framed, but this is not required.
• All presentations (except in the Youth category) must include a picture-hanging wire secured across the
back of the picture so that the wire is not visible when hung. Our display system does not accommodate
a loop or toothed grip at the top of the frame.
• The complete mount (outside dimensions of the frame) may not be smaller than 5” x 7” or larger than 28” x 30”; or,
in the case of a panoramic photo, no wider than 36” and total perimeter not to exceed 104”.
• Matted-only photos are not considered as framed and will not be accepted in categories 1-7.
• Write the following information on the back of EACH entry: Your name, address, phone number, the photo category
and title.
• Photographs for Sale: If your entry is for sale, indicate the price on the back of the photo and on the entry form. All
sales will be conducted directly between the photographer and the buyer.
• For all categories, photographs should not be altered beyond standard optimization (cropping, removal of red eye,
removal of dust and scratches, corrections to color, brightness, and contrast). Selection of category is solely the
participant’s decision; however, judges may disqualify pieces they deem to be inappropriately entered.
• There is a limit of two (2) entries per category, per photographer.
• Photos may be color or black and white. There is no special category for black and white.
• Previous SMAC Photo Contest winning photographs may not be entered.
• SMAC reserves the right to refuse any photograph that it considers inappropriate.
Important 2026 Photo Show Deadlines and Dates:
• Friday, April 24, 2026: Entry Deadline (forms and fees due).
• Tuesday, May 12, 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.: Photographs must be delivered to Kaleidoscope. (Please arrange for
drop-off/pick-up of your entries if you are unable to do so at designated times.)
• Friday, May 15, 6:00 p.m. Awards Reception, Kaleidoscope.
• Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 18, Noon - 3:00 p.m.: Public Exhibit open.
• Sunday, May 17, 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.: Photographs must be picked up from Kaleidoscope.
