Rev. David Freeman of First United Methodist Church, Rev. Preston Clegg of Second Baptist, and Rev. Kate Alexander of Christ Episcopal have been wrestling with what it means to be Christian these days. They haven't found any definitive answers but because the churches are neighbors we thought we'd invite our churches to have these conversations together.
Returning on January 26th, we're continuing the conversation with three more events for all three of our churches to come together. During these events, Preston, Kate, and David will start with a discussion on our topic and open it up for reflections and questions. We'll rotate around to each church, and you're invited to bring a brown-bag lunch. The first conversation will be held at First United Methodist Church at 723 Center Street on January 26th. The second conversation on February 9th at Second Baptist - 222 East 8th Street . The third on February 23rd at Christ Episcopal - 509 Scott Street.
As we were planning these events, we said they feel like the start of an old joke, "Three pastors walk into a bar." So that's what we named them. But the title is more than silly--we want this to be informal and filled with personal connection, like you're chatting with friends at a bar or coffee shop. Join us for rich connection and to meet our neighbor churches. Together, we'll experience God's grace and discover a compelling hope.
