Peter Hunter has updated his 3-hr handstand workshop and you can expect to join a great learning environment with time for each person to be seen, supported and spotted when relevant.
Learning goals in the workshop:
- LEARN BETTER FALLING - At least ensure everyone knows how to continue learning to fall safely.
- SHARPEN ALIGNMENT - Discover what is holding you back from more flexible shoulders and a better line.
- BALANCE TASKS - Drills to build the skill of balance, both solo and partner work. (*slightly bigger focus on solo work this time around)
- PRESSING TO HANDSTAND - When our potential to learn balance has faded due to fatigue, we shall destroy our shoulders in the very specific ways required to press.
Of course you can expect a comprehensive warm-up, a mix of different types of exercises (floor-, wall-, and freestanding) and hopefully some nuggets or aha-moments you can bring with you on your journey.
REQUIREMENT TO JOIN:
To join the workshop, you must be able to hold a 30-second WALL-SUPPORTED handstand.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
I began my handstand journey in 2010, falling in love with the art after finding a little bit of balance within the first couple months. Since then, I have continued to practice in many different contexts and learn from many teachers incl. Didier Oberlé, Michael Kristiansen, Sunniva Byvard and Yuval Ayalon. By learning from both handbalancers, partner acrobatics and gymnastic approaches, I have a wide base of exercises and skill progressions for each area of handstands: Balance, falling, bridging / flagging, one-arm, pressing, hand-to-hand. My teaching style is supportive, playful and movement positive, prioritizing connecting with the person in front of me higher than any dogma, strict rules or "results".
