Join for a three-day winter adventure with two days of skiing at Brian Head Ski Resort and a full day hiking among the hoodoos of Bryce Canyon National Park. This trip is beginner-friendly for skiing, community-oriented, and a perfect long weekend escape from Las Vegas.Three day itinerary
Day 1 – Tue, Jan 28: Las Vegas → Brian Head → Cedar City
Early morning departure from Las Vegas to Brian Head Ski Resort for a full day of skiing. Drive time is about 3 to 3.5 hours in normal conditions, so leaving early gets everyone on the slopes by late morning.
Evening: drive to Cedar City (about 35 mins from Bryce region, closer to Brian Head) and check into the hotel. Lodging is booked in Cedar City for the nights of Jan 28 and Jan 29 (check out on the morning of Jan 30).
Day 2 – Wed, Jan 29: Brian Head Ski Day 2 → Bryce Canyon
Morning and afternoon: second full day of skiing at Brian Head Ski Resort (all levels welcome; beginners can opt for lessons and easier runs).
Evening: drive from Cedar City/Brian Head to Bryce Canyon National Park area, then check into the hotel booked just 2 minutes from Bryce Canyon’s entrance.
Day 3 – Thu, Jan 30: Bryce Canyon Hike → Las Vegas
Spend the day hiking in Bryce Canyon National Park, taking in winter views of the amphitheater, hoodoos, and rim viewpoints; winter trails like sections of the Rim Trail often remain accessible with proper traction.
Late afternoon/evening: drive back to Las Vegas the same day.

Travel, lodging, and carpool
Approximate drive times:
Las Vegas → Brian Head: about 3 to 3.5 hours by car under normal conditions.
Cedar City → Bryce Canyon National Park: roughly 1.5–2 hours of scenic mountain and canyon driving.
Lodging:
Nights of Jan 28 and Jan 29 in a hotel in Cedar City.
Night of Jan 29 in a hotel booked 2 minutes from Bryce Canyon National Park.
Contact the host for recommended options; participants may also arrange their own lodging if preferred.
Cost sharing: expect to share fuel and lodging costs if you join a carpool or group accommodations.
Ski permits, gear, and lessons
A ski lift permit is required for both ski days; for best pricing, purchase in advance on Brian Head’s official site and add rentals when buying the pass if you need gear.
Ski gear checklist: ski/snow pants, thermals, puffer jacket, windbreaker, ski helmet, ski goggles/glasses, winter socks, warm gloves, and suitable footwear to walk to rentals.
Recommended extras: sunscreen, hand and foot warmers, at least 2 liters of water, snacks/breakfast for the drive, and a camera or phone for photos.
All levels welcome for skiing; beginners are encouraged to consider lessons offered by the resort.
What to bring for Bryce Canyon
National Park Pass (if you have one) and cash for gas and post-hike dinner (around 50 dollars for your driver and 25 dollars for food).
Food and water: breakfast/snack for the road, lunch for the trail, and at least 2 liters of water.
Gear: sturdy hiking shoes with good grip and ankle support, socks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking poles, microspikes (recommended in winter conditions), and an optional change of clothes for dinner.
