3-Day Liberty Horse Clinic
December 11–13, 2026
Limited to 12 Participants
Clinic Fee: $750
Deposit: $200 to Reserve Your Spot
Liberty training is about far more than removing the halter and lead rope. It is about creating a horse that wants to stay connected, understands your communication, and feels relaxed and confident while working with you.
During this three-day clinic, Michael and Julia will help participants build the foundation needed for meaningful liberty work. We will explore what liberty training truly is, how connection is developed, and why relaxation must come before more advanced movements or tricks.
Participants will be divided into two groups. each group going morning and afternoon, allowing for more individual instruction and plenty of hands-on time with your horse. As well as giving each group time to watch and take notes.
Throughout the clinic, we will work on:
Understanding the purpose and principles of liberty training
Developing connection, focus, and willingness
Recognizing when your horse is mentally and emotionally present
Using body language, position, and energy more effectively
Creating relaxation before asking for movement
Building the draw and encouraging your horse to stay connected
Knowing when to ask, when to release, and when to wait
Introducing positive reinforcement thoughtfully and effectively
Troubleshooting common challenges, including distraction, tension, crowding, and horses that disconnect
Creating a stronger foundation for future liberty movements and exercises
This clinic is designed to help you better understand your horse, not simply teach your horse to follow you without a rope. You will leave with practical exercises, a clearer understanding of liberty work, and a step-by-step approach you can continue using at home.
Whether liberty is a brand-new interest or something you have already begun exploring, this clinic will meet you and your horse where you are and help you build a more willing, relaxed, and connected partnership.
Participant spots are limited to 12. A $200 deposit is required to reserve your place, with the remaining balance due before the clinic.
