Another spectacular lineup of three great local bands at Meadworks on Saturday June 6. Doors open 6:30 and here's the fantastic lineup:
The night starts with John, Geoff, & Aiden: a father/child (John on guitar and Aiden on vocals) and friend (Geoff on fiddle) acoustic trio from MD who perform songs in whatever style fits their fancy, e.g. jazz, folk, R&B, pop, classic rock, and even some songs that are actually younger than John and Geoff (featuring Aiden singing lead). This will be their first performance together at Meadworks.
Next up: The Fretters! A queer folk/country band from DC/MD playing original songs about life, love, and running into your worst ex at the bar. Fans are saying they have "infectious energy" and music that leaves them "genuinely uplifted!" Two of the band members - singer and songwriter Leah Douglas and bassist Jason Lange - will perform at Meadworks. https://www.instagram.com/the_fretters/
We'll close out the night with Morning Watch, a genre-agnostic four piece band that explores pain, loss, murder and malaise through catchy beats and sing-along hooks. Literary by design and moody by inclination, they coax fresh songs from old wounds. https://www.instagram.com/morningwatchmusic/
