On October 11th, we will hold our annual event in support of our 2waters project and you are invited to participate. The event will consist of a 5K for those inclined to run and a fun family walk for those who want to participate in a less strenuous way. Either way you will be raising money for two of the most important causes in the world (helping people get both clean and Living water) and learning about the clean water problem at the same time.What: 2waters 5K and Fun Walk
Where: Patton Park, Hendersonville NC
When: Saturday, October 11 at 9:00 am
Who: Suitable for all ages
How much: We suggest $25 for 5K, $15 for walk
REGISTRATION:
The first 15 people who sign up will receive a Chick-fil-A sandwich and drink after the event. Register at ps128.org/race.
WHAT YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH BY PARTICIPATING:
Raise money for clean water and evangelism
Get educated about the clean water problem
Get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors!
5K DETAILS
For runners or those up for a bit of a challenge, we offer the 5K. You will start in Patton Park and follow the Oklawaha Greenway Trail to 7th Avenue and then back to the park.
PRIZES:
This year, we have the pleasure of having @footraxasheville as our main sponsor. The first, second, and third-place winners of the 5K will receive Foot RX gift cards. Foot Rx Running is a locally owned running store, that offers top-quality products and services tailored to runners, walkers, and active individuals.
FUN WALK / BUCKET CHALLENGE
Designed to be less strenuous than the 5K, the Fun Walk will take place entirely within Patton Park. Suitable for all ages, the Fun Walk is especially great for kids. At the heart of the event is the Bucket Challenge, where participants carry two buckets of water for one mile, symbolizing the distance Nicaraguan children often walk to fetch water. Participants can pause and resume as needed, ensuring that everyone can participate, regardless of fitness level.
FAMILY ACTIVITIES
In addition to the 5K and Fun Walk / Bucket Challenge we will offer other family activities including cornhole.
