All players must submit this online form by no later than October 24, 2025.

SECTIONS
"Chess age" is based on Dec. 31, 2024.
However, 2026 CYCC will be based on "chess age" on Dec. 31, 2025
Qualification in CYCC is not age sensitive.
U6 Open (born on or after January 1, 2019. Not a Qualifier)
U8 Open / U8 Girls (born after January 1, 2017)
U10 Open / U10 Girls (born after January 1, 2015)
U12 Open / U12 Girls (born after January 1, 2013)
U14 Open / U14 Girls (born after January 1, 2011)
U16 Open / U16 Girls (born after January 1, 2009)
U18 Open / U18 Girls (born after January 1, 2007)
Sections may be combined, if required.
RATING
CFC Quick Rated and CMA Rated for all Sections.
FORMAT
Regular Swiss or Round Robin, depending on section size.
TIME CONTROL
G/20 min + 5 sec increment
ROUND TIMES
Arrival: 12:15pm. No check-in on site.
– Round 1: 12:30 pm
– Round 2: 1:30 pm
– Round 3: 3:00 pm
– Round 4: 4:00 pm
– Round 5: 5:00 pm
Closing Ceremony: As soon as Round 5 ends
Snack break between Rounds 2 and 3.
DEFAULT TIMES
No default time for showing up late in a game but your clock shall be started.
CFC ID & CFC MEMBERSHIP
– Players must obtain a free CFC ID by no later than october 26, 2025
– A paid CFC Membership is NOT required.
First-timers are welcome to reach out to us for instructions on how to generate a CFC ID,
which will allow their kids to obtain their very first official chess rating!
QUALIFICATION
– Players with a score of at least 50% (2.5/5.0) will be qualified to compete in the
2026 Canadian Youth Chess Championship!
– Players with a score of at least 60% (3.0/5.0) will be qualified to compete in the
2026 Ontario Chess Challenge!

– 1st Place: Gold Medal
– 2nd Place: Silver Medal
– 3rd Place: Bronze Medal
In the event of a tie for a medal-winning position, all tied players earn a prize.
ENTRY FEE
EARLY BIRD: $50/player by October 15, 2025
$55/player on or after October 16, 2025
$5 additional sibling discount
BYES
Maximum of 2 half-point BYEs available during rounds 1-4.
PLAY-UPS
You can play up at no additional cost. For example, if you’re 11 years-old, you can play up in the
U14, U16 or U18 Section.
REFUNDS
50% back if you notify us by October 24, 2025
No refunds after October 24, 2025
