Get ready for a truly authentic Swedish experience! The SHS Board is excited to announce a surströmming (the famous fermented herring) and Crayfish tasting event and get-together! Yes, you read correctly! We will serve this Swedish delicacy the traditional way with potatoes, onions, sour cream and Swedish thin bread along with västerbottenpaj (quiche made on västerbottenost), skinkpaj (quiche made on ham), bread, and jordgubbstårta (strawberry cake) for dessert.
We love to follow the bountiful customs of Sweden; traditionally the surströmming party is held on the third Thursday in August so the government could ensure there is enough fermented surströmming
available. We’ve decided to deviate slightly since we believe a weekend date will allow for even more enthusiastic participation!

Tickets are priced at $20 for adults, $15 for College Students and $12 for children (12 & younger). To ensure adequate planning, we kindly request that attendees RSVP by Saturday, September 5, at 3 PM to purchase tickets. We have a limited number of tickets, so you may want to hurry and get yours!
