📣📣Calling all lindy hoppers, balboa-heads, Charleston nuts, and shag enthusiasts! Come on out to Portland's longest-running swing dance, bringing you fantastic live jazz music on Norse Hall's magnificent floor.
This week's Thursday Swing is our 2nd Annual Pride Month dance featuring local all-queer band, Rose City Swing!
The Rose City Swing Band is excited to present an evening of music celebrating the rich traditions and vibrant energy of jazz and popular music. Featuring works by legendary composers and artists including George Gershwin, Lionel Richie, Tito Puente, Duke Ellington, and Irving Berlin, tonight’s program highlights a wide variety of musical styles including Latin, swing, dance, and funk. From timeless classics to high-energy favorites, this performance showcases the versatility of the swing band tradition and celebrates music that continues to bring audiences together across generations.
Our Foundations Lesson is an hour-long beginner lesson from 6:45PM-7:45PM (and is included with the dance cover!). The lesson is great for folks who are new to dancing, curious about dancing, or just love dancing!
